The CRO is responsible for identifying physician volunteers in each of the high need specialty areas, educating physicians about eConsult, and obtaining commitments for participation. The CRO position is volunteer and part-time (8-12 hours per week). Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 1 Find Out More Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information) Access OC, a program of the Health Funders Partnership of Orange County, is designed to improve the health of Orange County’s most vulnerable residents by providing access to medical specialists in a high quality, cost-effective manner. This is accomplished by developing a series of innovative, interconnected specialty care initiatives. One of the leading initiatives of Access OC is increasing access to healthcare for medically underserved patients in Orange County. As a part of this initiative, Access OC is launching a program in the community called eConsult. eConsult is an innovative, web-based, secure, HIPAA-compliant email system designed to facilitate communication between primary care providers and specialists. The core principle is to harness the efficiencies of health information technology which will enhance communication between physicians and streamline referrals, resulting in a more efficient and higher quality of care. eConsult ensures appropriate referrals to specialists; facilitates opportunities for primary care providers to learn from specialists how to better manage their patients; reduces patient wait times by ensuring complete information is provided for referrals, and enhances overall efficiency of care.
